Fire Fighting Training

VT Flagship delivers a fire fighting training service to the Royal Navy and other armed forces personnel via a ground breaking Private Finance Initiative (PFI) with the Secretary of State for Defence. Under the umbrella of this 20 year PFI arrangement, the first of its kind with the Royal Navy, VT Flagship works closely with the Navy and Strathclyde Fire Brigade to deliver training in what is believed to be the very best fire fighting training facility. And through VT Flagship’s unique partnering agreement, commercial organisations can benefit from a range of fire fighting training courses at this state-of-the-art facility. 

Fire fighting training is provided at three locations; Portsmouth, Plymouth and Glasgow.

Each offers a highly sophisticated training environment in which trainees can experience realistic fire fighting training scenarios. Hot training is undertaken within eight units; each has three deck levels, nine compartments and lobbies, and a variety of vertical and sloping ladders, sliding, multi-clip and single lever action doors, and hatches.
