VT Flagship delivers new e-learning training capability for sailors

Trainees at the Maritime Warfare School, HMS COLLINGWOOD, Fareham, are set to experience a new way of learning now that a new 20 man e-learning classroom has been launched.

This new project, was managed by VT Flagship employee, Ted Lewis: “Electronic Classrooms have been rolled out across MWS to support future training modernisation.  Currently there are a number of classrooms installed with the capacity for between 5 and 12 students.  Training modernisation is already taking place within the Weapon Engineering Training Group to use MILS, Electro Optics Software and Circuit Board Simulation Packages for Engineering Technician courses.

“It is anticipated that as more modules modernise there will be further requirements for larger class sizes. The MWS requirement was therefore to develop and build an e-learning classroom big enough to facilitate 20 students. This new addition will not only meet this need but also give our students an electronic learning solution with an ‘out of hours’ facility, available to students 1630-2100 weekdays and 0800-1200 on weekends.”

This has been a successful project which came in on time and in budget on 01 June 2010.
