Defence

Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF)
As part of a larger BAE Systems programme, VT Flagship designed a 21-week specialist training programme for RSAF technicians. This programme equipped them with the necessary English language skills to undertake their technician training with the Royal Air Force at the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering (DCAE), Cosford. The English language programme focused on propulsion, electronics, airframes and aerodynamics.

Kuwait Navy, Qatari Emiri Navy, Romanian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman
VT Flagship delivers preparatory English language training to equip officers, drawn from a variety of overseas navies, to undertake the Royal Navy’s Young Officers Course (RNYOC). The programme, which varies in duration from seven to 21weeks, familarises students with the language and terminology used within the RNYOC.

Our course is specifically designed to equip future International Officer Cadets with not only a sound foundation in language awareness, but also with a firm grasp of the military language required to survive the rigours of the training that follows. This military terminology and further English language skills are covered in detail, enabling the cadets to use their new knowledge in the vitally important training exercises.

In addition to classroom learning, students enjoy practical leadership exercises which give them the opportunity to practise using their language skills in context. And our training also includes computer skills to enable students to pass the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

Kuwait and Qatar Coastguards 
As part of an ongoing ten year programme, Flagship is currently providing bespoke English Language Training to prepare and support students undertaking the Officers’ Degree in Marine Sciences. This comprises of four terms at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth followed by an academic year at the University of Plymouth.

Royal Navy of Oman
VT Flagship's English language training team designed a 12-week course for the Royal Navy of Oman to equip students with the language skills necessary to undertake Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Foundation Degrees at the Royal Navy’s Portsmouth training establishments.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces
VT Flagship has developed a 12-week English language course specifically for UAE cadets applying to the Royal Marine Commando Training Centre, Lympstone and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. The syllabus covers military and maritime language, history of the UK Armed Forces, leadership training (including practical exercises) and an extensive physical training programme to meet the exacting demands of the Royal Marines’ Potential Officers’ Course.

Italian Military Police (Arma dei Carabinieri)
We were delighted to develop an intensive four-week training programme for a group of Italian Police Officers. The programme was specifically produced to meet the exacting requirements of NATO’s English language examinations (STANAG). During the programme the Officers also undertook scenario based leadership exercises giving them the opportunity of practising their English skills out of a classroom environment.

Iraqi Navy
VT Flagship had a unique opportunity to help with the crucial role of rebuilding the Iraq Navy by developing an intensive four-week training programme for Iraqi cadets. The course was designed to equip them with the English language skills necessary to undertake further training at Britannia Royal Naval College in order to hold key positions within Iraq’s coastal defence force.

Aerospace

Civil Aviation Authorities of South East Asia
Through a three-year programme sponsored by the European Union, we have provided Specialist Aviation English to Air Traffic Controllers, ground staff and instructors from a variety of South East Asian nations including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore and Laos. VT Flagship instructors delivered training in the UK and in the respective countries according to our customers’ requirements and specific areas of interest.

Airbus, China
Through an intensive five-week skills based course we equipped a team of Air Accident Investigators from Airbus, China with the necessary English language skills required to continue their studies at the Cranfield College of Aeronautics.

Oxford Aviation Ltd
Over a two year period, VT Flagship designed and delivered a 16-week bespoke training programme for Algerian Airforce Cadets. The course provided the cadets with the specialist English language skills required to embark on their training as Aircraft and Helicopter Pilots with Oxford Aviation Ltd.
